Some reasons why we throw away our curtains :

-Move to a new Property, not to our taste so we throw away, these could be turned inside out, add on a border, add a trim or add Contrast fabric or add different curtain Tape to give a new look/style. or simply ‘We’ve have had our ‘old’ curtains a long time and what a new…

‘Do you want a new look, why not choose one of the above ideas or maybe you want to change the curtain track or pole, to give a different style/finish.

or

Change your current curtains into a Blind somewhere else in the house/flat or use the fabric to make cushions or a Bean bag for the kids. To make these curtains or Blinds, it can cost the same to have them ‘transformed’ as making new curtains, but just think what you will be doing for the environment and less going to the Landfill.

Think of your children/youth of today Landfill will continue to get worse if we don’t do the with our curtains what we are already doing with our clothes ‘re-cycle’.

Facts

Why Bother? Estimated that more than 1.5- 2 million tonnes of Textiles are thrown away every year, with most of this coming from the household sources. As 50% of the Textiles we throw away are recyclable, the proportion of the Textile waste reused or recycled annually in the UK is only around 16%.
